Oversee
Onboarding worksheet, shift card and oversight templates
The operator's manual for the person at the seat: accept or refuse the role on authority, information, time and retained skill.
What it does
Somewhere in every organisation a person is accountable for what the system does. This instrument lets that person accept or refuse the seat on four tests — authority to act, information to act on, time to act in, and the retained skill to act well — and gives them the onboarding worksheet, shift card and templates to hold the role once accepted.
When it is used
Fourth. At the point a named person takes the seat, and again at every handover of it.
The record that supplies it

The worksheet itself, lifted intact from that record, is stage 4 of The Instrument Deck.
Papers that bear on it
- The Long Handover — Core paper 3 of 3. Turns the framework's own ethic on itself: five confessions the earlier papers omit, the evidence tier, and the uncosted bandwidth of the managers asked to run it.
- The Second Signature — Self-written records cannot testify. The double-trust architecture that lets a machine's record be checked by someone who does not trust the machine.
