The instruments
Eight instruments, one sequence: assess at the gate, measure over time, record beyond amendment.
The papers argue; these pages do. Each instrument is a worksheet, checklist or protocol lifted from a published record, placed in the order a deployment actually meets it. Every one of them can be run on a real unit without new software. All eight are bound, in this order, in The Instrument Deck.
The Readiness Gate
Ten observable pre-deployment checks and four red lines. The only instrument whose output can be: do not deploy.
The AI Interaction Risk Screen and Change-Over-Time Log
Assesses how a person's AI use is functioning in their life, domain by domain, on the axis that matters: displacement or supplementation.
The Character Specification and Character Vitals
Puts the deployed system's character under governance: the five surfaces a deploying organisation actually controls.
Onboarding worksheet, shift card and oversight templates
The operator's manual for the person at the seat: accept or refuse the role on authority, information, time and retained skill.
The Floor Test capture sheets
Ninety days, no budget, no new software: baseline nine vitals, change one thing, read the result — and send it back, especially if it is null.
The Damping Audit
Maps and measures the discretion layer — where staff absorb, translate, correct, sense and escalate — and what a deployment does to it.
The AI Interaction Outcome Profile (AIOP)
Instruments the person rather than the technology. Six domains, each running from a harm pole to a benefit pole, read against the person's own baseline.
The Glass Ledger
A tamper-evident decision journal. Any rewrite of the record becomes detectable by anyone, from any machine.
